In recognition of outstanding academic achievement, Queen’s University Belfast, in partnership with the Transfer Abroad Network (TAN), is thrilled to offer a number of exceptional community college transfer students a £7,500 tuition scholarship (approx. $12,600) for their first year of study.

This award reflects Queen’s commitment to academic distinction and attracting top-tier global talent. If selected, you will bypass your freshman year and gain direct entry into Year 2 of a Bachelor’s degree (Junior Year standing equivalent) starting in September 2026.

As the scholarship recipient, you will also be automatically appointed as a North America Student Ambassador for the university!

Who is Eligible to Apply?

This award is highly competitive and exclusively available to students who meet certain criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

✓ Current Status: You are in the final stages of your Associate Degree at a U.S. Community College.

✓ Application Path: You are applying to Queen’s University Belfast through the Transfer Abroad Network (TAN).

✓ Offer Status: You may soon be (or already are) in receipt of an official offer from Queen’s University Belfast for September 2026 entry.

✓ Fee Status: You are classified as an international fee-paying student.

Excluded Programs: Eligible for Year 2 entry across the Queen’s portfolio, except for Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Pharmacy, distance learning programs, foundation degrees, or non-degree study abroad programs.

How to Apply for the Scholarship

Step 1: Secure Your University Offer

You must first apply to an undergraduate program through the Transfer Abroad Network and complete your application within the Queen’s University Belfast Application System. It is okay to submit an application before your official offer has been recieved.

Step 2: Record Your Project Video

**Very Important**

Record a short video (maximum 2 minutes) where you speak directly to the camera about a recent academic project you were part of, your role, outcomes, what you learned from the project, and how it prepared you for university-level study.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Complete the official online scholarship form. You will need to provide your basic details and a short reference statement from a community college teacher, counselor, or community leader.

Guidelines for Your Video Submission

Your video will be judged entirely on content and presentation skills, not on production quality. Please follow these strict guidelines to ensure your application is reviewed:

Upload your video to YouTube and submit it as an Unlisted YouTube Link. (Alternatively, MP4 formats playable on VLC media player are accepted).

Do not exceed 2 minutes. Videos over this limit will not be considered.

Listen to your recording before submitting. Submissions with excessive background noise (traffic, loud AC) that make your voice hard to understand will not be accepted.

Clearly state your full name and TAN Application Reference in the video and include it in the message section of your submission.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The Queen’s University Belfast Transfer Abroad Network Scholarship is exclusively for new international students domiciled in the USA obtaining a Community College Associate’s Degree and applying through the Transfer Abroad Network.
  • Students must have applied to Queen’s University and have received an offer of study for a place on a full-time undergraduate programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2026/27 and prior to commencement of study have met any academic conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter. Exclusions apply – see point 10 below.
  • Students must have accepted their offer of study within 5 days of receiving the scholarship.
  • Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the full international tuition fee rate with their domicile being the in order to be considered for this scholarship. Students paying NI or GB fees are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Deadline to apply is May 29th 2026
  • The scholarship is awarded for the first year of study only and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment. The scholarship cannot be used in lieu of any required deposit and no cash alternative is available.
  • The Award is for entry to Queen’s University Belfast in the academic year 2026/27 and cannot be used for 2027/28 entry or any other year.
  • If you wish to defer your entry to the University your scholarship will not be transferred.
  • Students must be self-funded. Students in receipt of educational loans (e.g. FAFSA applicants or students wishing to utilise 529 plans) are classified as self-funded and are NOT excluded from this award.
  • If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship/scholarship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for the Award.
  • The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the award:


Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work or Pharmacy, ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes, All Study Abroad programmes i.e., visiting study programmes that are not degree conferring

  • Students must request authorisation from the International Office before making any changes to their programme of study. Where changes are made without authorisation being granted, the scholarship may be withdrawn and students may be required to repay the scholarship in full.
  • In the event that a student has received scholarship offers for a number of different programmes at Queen’s University Belfast, they will only be able to redeem one scholarship award. This will be the scholarship award for the course onto which they enrol in the 2026/27 academic year.
  • Applicants may apply and/or be considered for more than one tuition fee award administered by Queen’s University Belfast but if successful would receive the higher of the awards (with the lower value award cancelled or allocated to another applicant).
  • Queen’s University Belfast Transfer Abroad Network Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other University tuition fee scholarship except the Early Confirmation Award where eligible.
  • The University is unable to consider requests for increased and/or further funding. The amount of scholarship offered is non-negotiable.
